Heungdong Kwon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kyung Hee University. He leads research on scalable, high-performance, and energy-efficient thermal management technologies for ultra-high-heat-flux electronics. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and his B.S. from Yonsei University. His research focuses on nano/micro-scale heat conduction and the development of next-generation micro-coolers for AI hardware, high-performance computing, 2.5D/3D heterogeneous integration, and power electronics. By combining advanced thermal characterization, micro/nanofabrication, and multiphysics modeling, he aims to bridge the gap between fundamental heat and mass transfer into manufacturable cooling devices. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting and watching K-dramas.
We are looking for highly motivated graduate and undergraduate students to join our team. If you are interested in joining our team, please contact Prof. Heungdong Kwon at hdkwon@khu.ac.kr with a brief statement of interest.
